The location was perfect, with easy access to the beautiful Cave Dale walk and Mam Tor. We also loved the nearby shops, pubs, and tea shops. The cottage itself was full of character, with a cozy log burner, made our snowy stay extra special. The main bedroom was lovely, with a huge and comfortable bed. We were really surprised by the second bedroom, as the bed was bigger than expected and opened up, adding to the adventure and use of space. The cottage was tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. It wasnice and neat, and the pictures really didn't do it justice. We also appreciated the helpful recommendations for dinner at The Castle Inn and The Peak Hotel, as well as live music at The Nags Head and a superb breakfast at Tilly's Cafe.
The cooking facilities were a bit challenging for us, as we struggled to regulate the oven and hotplate. We couldn't find any instructions, although it's possible that we missed them.

I had the most very nice stay at this charming cottage in the heart of Castleton. The location couldn't have been better, and I loved the character that the cottage had, especially with the unique bed on a shelf. Even though it wasn't cold enough for a log fire, I wish it had been because I can imagine how cozy it would have made the place feel.
